Outside Research

The following is a list of current synesthesia research that staff is aware is being done. Interested participants, please read the links carefully for detailed information. Dates listed are final submission deadlines as staff could locate them on the websites. When no date is given, participants should contact the researcher or institution and inquire about the last date to sign up. If the period has closed and the study is no longer accepting new participants, please let staff here know so they can remove the link.

This first list is for research found through links outside of Crosstalk. We are in no way connected to the research or individuals and institutions conducting the studies.

Author Assist - Sarah Sky

For an indefinite amount of time, author Sarah Sky is seeking synesthetes who see voices in color or who see the color of music and everyday sounds. (Additionally, she's wanting to speak with anyone who has prosopagnosia.) Click the link to read more

Decoding the genetics of synaesthesia

Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics - dates of study are unknown. The most recent known submissions were accepted March 24th, 2015.

Notes: All parts of the study can be completed from home. You don't need to be a native English speaker. You need to have your previous results from the Synesthesia Battery test or, after signing up for the study, use the email they give you to take the Synesthesia Battery and submit those results.
